The year was 2019. VR DJ events were popping up on VRChat, but none of them featured furries front and center.
"VR DJ events... It's all homo sapiens here, right? If there was an event where furries were the stars, it'd be the absolute best!"
What started as a simple idea turned into something real. Starting from his own home world in VRChat, SORAMI began modifying it over and over, determined to build the ideal club space with his own hands, despite having zero Unity experience. Through countless failures and late-night iterations, the idea of "a place where furries can dance" started coming together.
On June 5, 2020, KEMO CLUB Vol.1 was officially born. The inaugural lineup featured three DJs: SQN, F Rabbeat, and Inujiro. For about two and a half hours starting at 9 PM, the VRChat floor hit its 50-player capacity and stayed completely full. An extraordinary turnout nobody expected. The dance floor was packed wall-to-wall with furries.
A small, unknown event. But this is where it all began.
